Google Review Removal Service
We assess Google reviews for removal eligibility where platform policy grounds exist — fake accounts, spam, conflicts of interest, defamatory content and coordinated competitor attacks. Where removal is not possible, we advise on evidence-led suppression and response strategies.
- Fake or non-customer accounts
- Spam or off-topic content
- Conflict of interest — competitor or employee
- Advertising or promotional content
- Provably false factual statements
- Personal attacks or targeted harassment
- Restricted or regulated content
- Coordinated attack by multiple fake accounts
- Genuine negative reviews from real customers
- Unflattering but factually accurate opinions
- Reviews you disagree with but cannot disprove
- Low-star ratings without policy violations
Who this service is for
Google reviews affect local search rankings, client acquisition and purchasing decisions. A single fabricated review can distort years of genuine service. We work with organisations facing:
Problem situations we assess
- Fake reviews posted by competitors or their agents
- Coordinated attacks — multiple reviews posted simultaneously
- Reviews from accounts that were never customers
- Ex-employee or disgruntled contractor reviews
- Reviews containing provably false factual claims
- Reviews copied from other platforms or reviews of other businesses
- Sponsored or incentivised negative reviews
- Reviews containing personal information or threats
Industries we regularly assist
- Hotels, restaurants and hospitality operators
- Law firms and legal professionals
- Healthcare and medical practices
- Financial services firms and advisors
- Real estate agents and property developers
- Contractors and tradespeople
- E-commerce and retail businesses
- Professional service firms
What strengthens a removal request
Google does not remove reviews automatically. A well-evidenced report submitted through the correct channel significantly increases the likelihood of removal. We review available evidence before committing to a submission strategy.
Evidence that helps
- Proof the reviewer was never a customer (booking records, transaction logs)
- Multiple reviews from the same account targeting your business
- Reviewer account created recently with no prior review history
- Same IP address, device or account pattern across multiple reviews
- Screenshots of a competitor coordinating the attack
- The review content describes a business other than yours
- The review contains demonstrably false factual statements
- The review was posted hours after a dispute or dismissal
Evidence that is insufficient alone
- You believe the reviewer is exaggerating or misrepresenting
- The reviewer's opinion differs from other customers' experiences
- The review is negative but you cannot disprove the facts stated
- You suspect the identity of the reviewer but cannot prove it
- The account has other reviews but you find it suspicious
- You received a low star rating without written content
How we assess and act
Every case follows a structured process. We do not submit removal requests until we have assessed the evidence and determined a viable approach.
Realistic timelines and known limitations
We provide honest assessments. No removal outcome is guaranteed before case review. The following are typical ranges based on historical cases — not guarantees.
Typical timelines
- Initial assessment response: within 24 hours
- Clear policy violation with strong evidence: 24–72 hours from submission
- Complex cases or coordinated attacks: 5–14 days
- Cases requiring escalation or legal coordination: 2–6 weeks
- Suppression strategy (where removal is not possible): 30–90 days for meaningful search impact
Known limitations
- Google's removal decisions are final — we cannot override them
- Timelines depend on Google's review queue and staffing
- Genuine negative opinions from real customers are not removable
- Successful removal of one review does not prevent future reviews
- Suppression timelines vary significantly by competition level and keyword
- No removal or suppression outcome can be guaranteed before assessment
Coordinated fake review attack — resolved
Hotel group — 12 coordinated fake reviews removed
A hotel group operating across three properties in the UK experienced a sudden influx of 1-star Google reviews over a 48-hour period. The reviews appeared across all three locations simultaneously, all from newly created accounts with no prior review history. Several reviews referenced events that had not taken place at the hotels.
Clean Traces conducted an account-level analysis, documented the coordinated pattern, prepared evidence of the policy violations, and submitted structured removal reports through Google's platform and escalation channels. All 12 reviews were removed within seven days.
Client identity anonymised. Case details verified internally. Results reflect one specific case and are not a guarantee of outcomes in other cases.
